Trampoline and DMT World Age Games 2014

3 gymnasts from Cobra Gymnastics Club competed for Ireland in the Trampoline World Age Games in Daytona Beach Florida. Dylan Marshall is 16 and competed in his 4th World Age Games, Niamh Hutchinson is 13 and Killian Stuart is 15, both were competing in their first World Age Games. Dylan and Killian competed on both Trampoline and Double Mini Tramp (DMT). Niamh competed on DMT only, after starting to train on DMT last November she has made a quick progression to compete for Ireland internationally. All 3 had 100% completion in their routines and passes, with Dylan finalling in the 17-18 age group on DMT finishing in 4th after competing a triple back somersault in a DMT competition for the first time. Dylan was the first Irish gymnast to final at Europeans on DMT finishing 4th in April and is also the first Irish gymnast to final on DMT at Worlds.

Trampoline European Championships 2014

Congratulations to the boys on their great performances, 100% finish of routines from the Irish team. Dylan was the first Irish gymnast to make a European junior final finishing 4th in the DMT final!

Artistic IA and teams National Finals April 2014

Brilliant performance from all the Cobra girls at the national finals in Limerick. Katie Davis won beam bronze in the level 4 over 11, Madeleine Long won beam bronze in the level 5 over 13, Clara Murphy won floor bronze in the level 6 under 13 group. Also team bronze for Madeleine Long, Liadan Long and Isabel Staunton in the level 5 over 13 group.

WAGC 2013

Great news from Sofia- Boyd Cathcart and Dylan Marshall have qualified for the synchro final at the Trampoline World Age Group Championships, Dylan had a great performance in individual trampoline, he finished 22nd out of 74 in the boys 15-16 age group category today with a pb in his set score, pb in his vol score and an improvement of 3 marks in his pb for his overall score!

Loule Cup 2013

Congratulations to Dylan -he won a silver medal in the Junior men’s DMT final. Was a great performance for his  first international medal!

Loule Cup 2012

Dylan Marshall was unfortunate to make a mistake trying out a new vol on trampoline but put in a good performance on DMT with two double double passes in a competition for the first time

Albacete Cup Spain 2012

Dylan Marshall finished a great 4th on DMT and 13th on trampoline in the Junior age group. One of the highlights of the trip was training at the same time as the Chinese Senior Mens team!

Trampoline Nationals and GP Final 2012

Niamh Geoghegan won gold in the novice 8 years girls group. One of the club’s newest members Daisy Sharpe won a bronze in the novice 11-12 girls group competition in her third competition in a very tough group. Ruth Sheahan won bronze in the intermediate 9-10 girls with Ciara Brennan close behind in 4^th place. Alberto Facal Malvar won the advanced 13-14 group national title. National squad member and world age games competitor Dylan Marshall won the elite 15-16 age group and finished 2^nd in the open men’s group with new personal bests and a 9 double somersault routine.

The medal winners from our northern members were Elite 13-14 champion Daniel Cathcart, Elite 17-18 and Men’s champion Boyd Cathcart, silver medal elite 17-18 Andrew Housten and men’s bronze medalist, National 13-14 silver medal Lauren Dixon, elite girls 13-14 and ladies champion Hannah Mellon.

In the grand prix competition where the top three competitors from each region regardless of age compete against each other saw some more great Cobra performances from Daisy, Alberto, Dylan, Boyd and Daniel culminating in a first place team finish for the South East region. Alberto Facal Malvar won advanced gold, Boyd, Dylan and Daniel finished in 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place in both the elite and open levels.

National Individual Apparatus 2012

The youngest member of the team, 8 year old Clara Murphy won bronze on beam and floor in the level 4 under 9 competition.

In level 4 over 13, Liadan Long, Madeleine Long, Isabelle Staunton and Aoife Kenny won team bronze, with Liadan in 4th by 0.07 on vault and Aoife 4th by 0.03 on beam.

In level 2 over 11 Esme Honan and Rebekka Tomasune won team bronze with Rebekka winning silver on bars. Esme was 4th on beam by 0.05 and 5th on bars.

In level 6 over 13 Kate Sheridan won a team bronze medal.

Regional All Round 2012

At level 2, Niamh Geoghegan, Ruth Sheahan, and Roisin Olohan won gold medals. Laoighse Geoghegan and Rebekka Tomasune won silver, with Lois Honan winning bronze. In the level 4 competition, Clara Murphy, Orlaith O’Brien, Isabel Staunton and Aoife Kenny won gold medals. Caoimhe Ward, Liadan Long and Grace Cleary won silver. In level 6 Kate Sheridan competed well at the highest level to finish in 4th.

Trampoline World Age Games 2011

In November 2011, Dylan Marshall, Boyd Cathcart, Andrew Housten and Daniel Cathcart were on the Irish team that competed in the World Age Group championships in Birmingham. Boyd had the highest ever Irish placing in DMT and Dylan had the highest score of the Irish trampolinists finishing in 25^th in the 13-14 boys age group.

Trampoline National and GP finals November 2011

The Trampoline Grand Prix finals 2011, Dylan Marshall won bronze at elite level and won the open group.

In the 2011 Trampoline National Finals at intermediate level, Alberto Facal Malvar won gold , Ruth Sheahan and Mark Sheahan won silver. At Advanced level Lauren Dixon won silver. At Elite Level, Dylan Marshall, Daniel Cathcart and Boyd Cathcart won gold and Andrew Housten silver. In the men’s competition, Boyd Cathcart won gold and Andrew Housten silver.

Loule Cup 2011

In September 2011, Dylan Marshall (Cobra), Boyd Cathcart, Andrew Housten and Daniel Cathcart (Cobra Northern Stars) were on the Irish team that competed in the Loule Cup in Portugal. Daniel Cathcart had a great competition to win a  bronze medal in the Under 13 DMT competition. Dylan Marshall qualified for the final in the 13-14 boys group and finished in 6^th place.

National Individual Apparatus 2011

Congratulations to all the Cobra girls that competed in the Artistic Gymnastics level 2-7 National Finals recently. Especially the Level 3 Under 9 team of Grace Cleary, Orlaith O’Brien and Clara Murphy on their team bronze after competing on floor, asymmetric bars, vault and beam and Clara Murphy on winning a gold medal in the Level 3 U9 Beam Competition. Seven year old Clara was competing in her first national finals and won her national title after completing her beam routine with no falls.
